There are several ways of copying forms. You can copy SAP forms for your own purposes in this step, or in the form editor. For information on copying forms using the form editor, refer to the SAP Library under Personnel Management -> HR Tools -> HR Form Editor -> Copying a Standard HR Form Accross Clients.
This step is only necessary if you use SAP standard forms. In this step, you:
- Save any existing forms under a new name
- Delete table entries for your old form
- Delete table entries for old SAP standard forms
- Copy a standard form from SAP client (000) to your client
- Copy the standard form to your client in the customer name range.
Recommendation
You should always copy the standard form to a customer name range so that your form is not overwritten by a release upgrade.
Activities
- Save any existing forms in your client under a new name and delete the old table entries:
- Choose the activity Copy form within customer client .
- Specify the key of your old customer form in the Form to be copied field.
- Enter a name for your customer form in the New name for copied form field.
- Choose Execute.
- Choose the activity Delete form in customer client.
- Enter the key for your old form in the Form to be deleted field.
- Choose Execute.
- In your client, delete old table entries for the standard form:
- Choose the activity Delete form in customer client.
- Enter the key for the standard form in the Form to be deleted field.
- Choose Execute.
- Copy the standard form from the SAP client (000) to your client:
- Choose the activity Copy form from SAP client to customer client .
- Enter the key for the standard form in each of the fields New name for copied form and Form to be copied.
- Choose Execute.
- Copy the standard form from your client to a form in the customer name range:
- Choose the activity Copy the form within customer name range .
- Enter the key for the standard form in the field Form to be copied .
- Enter the key for the required customer form in the field New form name for copy. Ensure that you observe the SAP conventions for naming forms.
- Choose Execute.
