Use

In this activity, you define your customer statuses. You use the customer status to map information on a student's status in general or in relation to a particular program in the system. You can also use customer statuses as selection criteria in student search help, or you can relate specific activities to customer statuses.

Here, you also assign each customer status to an object type. The actual customer statuses are stored in the system as data records of infotype 1728 (Status Indicators) either in the object type student (ST) or the object type study (CS). Observe the following rules when assigning customer statuses to object types:

  • If a customer status is relevant for all student-related activities, assign this customer status to the object type student.
  • If a customer status is relevant only for a specific program (object type SC), assign this status type to the object type study. When you assign a customer status to the object type study, you create a reference between the customer status and a program of study.

Optionally, you can assign the customer status one of the status groupings you created in the previous activity. The status grouping is displayed in the student file overview, and represents a combination of related customer statuses.

Note

Create the technical keys for your customer statuses in the customer namespace 9000 to 9999.

  1. Enter a four-digit numeric key between 9000 and 9999 and a description for each required customer status.
  2. Assign the relevant object type to each customer status.
  3. Enter a status grouping, if required.
