Use
In this IMG activity, you define which of the selection methods of a selection method group you want to use.
You can also define your own selection method groups. For example, you need to define a special selection method group for the correspondence mass activity.
Requirements
You have implemented the user-defined selection methods with the business add-in HRPIQ00SELMETHOD in this IMG section.
Note: A selection method can be selected from a selection method group only if the selection method in question supports the object type assigned to the selection method group.
Standard settings
The standard system contains several selection method groups, each of which is assigned standard selection methods.
If you do not want to use all the standard selection methods in a selection method group, you can deactivate the respective selection methods.
Activities
- Enter a four-character alphanumeric key and a description for each selection method group you create.
- Check the object type assigned to the selection method groups you want to use.
- Assign the required selection methods to these selection method groups.
Note:
If you do not want to use the standard selection methods assigned to a selection method group in a particular application, set the Deactivate indicator for these.
Example
Program type progression uses selection method group PRGR. You must assign all the selection methods you want to use in this progression type to selection method group PRGR. On the Program Type Progression selection screen, you can then choose the selection methods which are assigned to selection method group PRGR.
The standard system contains the selection method group PRGR ( program type progression); this group is assigned the following selection methods:
- User-Defined Search 1
- Student Status
- Registered Students
The program type progression application selects the programs based on the selection method. Selection method group PRGR is assigned the study object (object type CS). Since each study object is linked to one specific program object (object type SC) (infotype relationship stored in the CS object; relationship A 514 - is specialization of), selection by program automatically becomes possible when you assign the study object to selection method group PRGR. However, it is not advisable to assign the student object (object type ST) to selection method group PRGR as a student can be registered in several programs some of which (s)he may already have completed.
