Use
In this IMG activity, you define the key figures you require for the following applications:
- Appraisal of modules
- Mapping of auxiliary conditions which are evaluated in audits
When you define a key figure that has no reference to a performance index (see next section), you can assign it the following parameters:
- Calculation method
(This parameter is not a performance index)
- Calculation scale (academic scale)
- Result scale (academic scale)
- Output semantics of the key figure
Key figures with reference to a performance index
Performance indices are key figures of a special type which are calculated on the basis of academic work. The key figures defined here can therefore contain a reference to a performance index.
You do not have to create key figures for existing performance indices. Only create key figures for the above-mentioned applications.
When you create a key figure with reference to a performance index, you only have to enter a key figure description and assign it the performance index. In this case, all of the other (above-listed) parameters must contain the initial value. The calculation method and scales are already contained in the performance index definition.
Further notes
The calculation of key figures for an auxiliary condition, such as number of credits or average grade, is based on academic work. Here, you only have to create a key figure with reference to a performance index.
If you want to define a key figure which uses module bookings as the calculation base, you must create a key figure with reference to a performance index.
Requirements
You have defined the required output semantics. You make this setting in the IMG activity Define Input/Output Semantics of Key Figures. Note that some applications have specific input and output semantics.
You have defined the required academic scales. You make this setting in Customizing for Campus Management in der IMG activity Set Up Academic Scales.
You have defined the required calculation methods, and for a key figure that refers to a performance index, the required performance index. You make this setting in Customizing for Campus Management in the section Campus Management Master Data -> Performance Indices.
Standard settings
The SAP standard system contains the following entry for grade calculation in appraisals:
Key figure Index calculation Output semantics
GCAL GRAD NOTE
Activities
- Enter a four-character alphanumeric key and a description for each required key figure.
- Assign the required parameters as follows:
- If the key figure does not contain a reference to a performance index, assign it the following parameters:
- Calculation method
- Calculation scale
- Result scale
- Output semantics - If you assign the key figure a performance index as a reference, the above-listed parameters must contain the initial value.
