Use

In this IMG activity, you define the cohort contexts within which you can create cohorts in the cohort builder. Every cohort must have (at least) one cohort context.

The cohort context enables you to restrict the functions or processes which may be used for a specific cohort. For example, cohorts in the module booking context require only the functions for module booking.

In technical terms, a cohort context is a subtype of infotype 1764 (Cohort Context).

Requirements

Standard settings

The SAP standard system contains cohort context 0001 (module booking).

Activities

You can find out which cohort contexts already exist in the system by selecting infotype 1764 and displaying its subtypes.

If you need additional cohort contexts, you must create a new subtype for each in infotype 1764.

Example

You group a certain number of students in a cohort so that you can simultaneously book modules for all of these students instead of having to book them separately for each student.

You create the cohort in the module booking context. This setting defines that this cohort can be used for module booking, but not for other activities such as re-registration.
