Use

In this IMG activity, you define the structure of your requirement patterns. A requirement pattern consists of requirements which can be arranged in hierarchical order across several levels. You can use the reference item of a requirement to create a reference to an item in the requirement pattern. This enables you to subdivide higher levels.

We recommend that you use a root element when you set up your requirement patterns. If you do not, you will not be able to determine if the audit requirements were fulfilled. This applies especially to audits which are run in the background.

You can also specify a weighting for each of the different requirement elements. The system takes the weighting into account when it calculates key figures in an audit.

Requirements

You created the requirements and requirement patterns you need in the previous IMG activites.

Activities

  1. Assign the relevant requirements to your requirement patterns.
  2. Using the item and reference item, define the hierarchy of requirements within the requirement patterns.
  3. Define a weighting for each requirement, if required.

Example

You want to set up the requirement pattern general education as follows:

- Overall result (root element)

  • General university requirements
    • Requirement A
    • Requirement B
  • Special university requirements
    • Requirement C
    • Requirement D

You define the requirement pattern structure as follows:

Requirement pattern    Item    Reference item    Requirement

General education    0001        Overall result

General education    0002    0001    General requirements

General education    0003    0002    Requirement A

General education    0004    0002    Requirement B

General education    0005    0001    Special requirements

General education    0006    0005    Requirement C

General education    0007    0005    Requirement D
