Use
In this IMG activity, you assign a teaching activity grouping to teaching activities. You can also define the calculation rules which the system should use to determine the teaching workload of each teaching activity.
When you assign a teaching activity grouping, you also define the unit of the teaching activity. The system displays this unit when you edit the event offering for this teaching activity. If a teaching activity is not assigned a teaching activity grouping, then it has no unit.
The calculation rule defines how the teaching workload is determined for a teaching activity. You can apply the calculation rules defined for each teaching activity when you use customer-specific programs, for example, to analyze teaching activity billing data. The following calculation rules are provided in the system:
- Per business event type
The teaching workload is determined per business event type. You can apply this rule for lectures which are held more than once. The preparation is not determined per business event, but only once per business event type.
- Per business event
The teaching workload is determined per business event. You can apply this rule for lectures and laboratory courses which are held only once and require individual preparation.
- Per student
The teaching workload is determined per student. You can apply this rule for individualized instruction and personal mentoring (for example, for internship training, term papers, or dissertations).
- Per teaching effort/contact hour
The teaching workload is determined per teaching effort unit or contact hour. You can apply this rule for individual lectures and laboratory courses in which the business event duration has to be taken into account in the workload. For example, business events with two semester hours are processed differently from those with four semester hours.
You can also use a combination of calculation rules.
