In this activity, you set up the coding systems that list the names and codes of academic institutions.

Many countries have one or more directories listing the schools, universities, and other academic institutions within the country. Each of the academic institutions in this directory has its own unique identification code. In the SAP System, this directory is referred to as coding system.

You assign a coding system and its code to an external organization in the infotype External Organization Data (1757)

Examples

Possible coding systems are:

  • FICE
  • IPEDS
  • DUNS
  • ATP
  • Canadian College Codes
  • High School Codes

Activities

  1. Choose New entries.
  2. Enter an up to six-character alphanumeric table key and a descriptive text for each required coding system.
  3. When you have made all the required entries, choose Save.
