In this IMG activity, you assign the academic scales you have defined to the countries in which these scales are commonly used.
If you enter an external academic achievement (academic work or qualification) in the External Transcripts infotype (1719), you must specify the external organization (referred to as primary organization in the following) at which this achievement was completed.
This primary organization can be assigned to a country in the Scales/Credits infotype (1755).
When determining the scale for an external achievement, the system proceeds as follows:
- If an external subject (object type SU) or an external qualification (object type EQ) is assigned to the external organization (relationship A508 "offers"), the system checks if this external subject or qualification is assigned a scale. If so, the system uses this scale.
- If not, the system determines whether the primary organization is assigned a scale in the Scales/Credits infotype (1755). If so, the system uses this scale.
- If not, the system determines whether a scale is assigned to the external organization at the next higher level to the primary organization. If so, the system uses this scale.
- If not, the system reads the country of the primary organization to determine whether a country-specific scale is assigned. If so, the system uses this scale.
- If not, the system determines whether a standard scale is specified in table T7PIQSWITCH. If so, the system uses the standard scale.
Example
You have set up a scale (scale ID: GER01 ) to map German secondary school grades. To ensure that this scale is used only for grades obtained from German secondary schools, you assign the scale ID GER01 to the country Germany.
Requirements
You have defined the required academic scales in the IMG activity Set Up Academic Scales.
Activities
Choose a country, and enter the scale ID of the scale you want to assign to this country.
