In this IMG activity, you define the program types and assign each program type the relevant progression categories. The system supports the following progression categories:
- Progress classification (according to institutional rules)
- Progress classification according to the rules governing financial aid
- Academic standing (according to institutional rules)
- Academic standing according to the rules governing financial aid
- Academic honors
You must define the permissible entries for each progression category you assign to a program type. If you do not assign permissible entries to the assigned progression categories, the program type progression application will output an error message.
The permissible entries represent the result of program type progression. The system displays the result of a progression run on the Program Type Progression tab page of the Student File.
- You create the permissible progress classification entries in the IMG activity Define Progress Classifications. The progress classifications you assign to a program type apply to progress classification based on institutional rules as well as to progress classification based on the rules for financial aid. When you assign progress classifications to a program type, you must define a sort sequence which determines the progression order of the progress classifications within a program type.
- You define the permissible entries for the other progression categories in this IMG activity.
On the Program Type Progression selection screen, only the fields of the progression categories which are relevant for the given program type are ready for input. You can use all the progression categories you assign to a program type in this IMG activity in this particular program type. If required, you can restrict the allowed progression categories in the student object of the infotype Module Usage (1725).
Requirements
You must create the progress classifications you require in the IMG activity Define Progress Classifications.
