In this activity, you combine module group variants with module group categories. By doing so, you define which module group variants belong to which module group category. These module group variant/module group category assignments specify which major/minor subject combinations are offered in a program of study.
You must create a new entry for each required combination of module group variant and module group category. If a module group variant has several alternatives, you must create different instances of this module group variant.
Example
You have created the module group variant 2 MA/1 MA + 2 MI (2 majors, or 1 major and 2 minors).
You set up the following module group variant/module group category combinations:
Mod.grp var. Instance Priority Grp category Number Order
2 MA/1MA+2MI 01 001 Major 02 X
2 MA/1MA+2MI 02 001 Major 01
2 MA/1MA+2MI 02 002 Minor 02
A program with these module group variant/module group category combinations offers the following academic specializations:
- 2 majors
- 1 major and 2 minors
