In this IMG activity, you define the degree types for internal and external qualifications. Internal and external qualifications are academic achievements attained by students during and prior to their present studies. An internal or external qualification is documented by means of a certificate, diploma, degree, or other attestation.
You must define degree types so that you can assign academic levels to internal or external qualifications. Every degree type can be assigned a degree level to indicate the standing of the degree.
You must also define what each degree type may be used for. The system checks the given usage in the student file when you assign a qualification with the degree type in question.
Note
This IMG activity is used more than once and for different functions in the Campus Management Implementation Guide. The settings you make here can therefore affect other Campus Management functions.
Requirements
You have defined the required degree levels in the IMG activity Set Up Degree Levels.
Activities
- Enter a four-character alphanumeric key and a description for each required degree type.
- Assign a degree level to each degree type you have created.
- If required, assign a usage.
Further notes
The degree types you define here can be used to specify the highest degree attained by persons related to the student.
