In this IMG activity, you define student groups so that you can classify students according to specific criteria. You can also use the student group as an evaluation criterion.
You can assign students a student group on the Ind. Study Data tab page in master data maintenance.
Notes
You should use the student group as an evaluation criterion only if the required information cannot be derived from other student attributes.
The student group is a student-specific attribute and should not contain any information which can be derived from the program registration.
Using the Student Group in Fee Calculation
You can use the defined student groups to determine prices in the condition tables. For more information, see Campus Management -> Student Accounting -> Fees -> Pricing -> Pricing Procedures -> Define Condition Tables.
The Campus Management fee calculation tool derives the relevant pricing procedure for each student from the student group and other parameters. You can define how the fee calculation procedure is to be derived in Customizing for Student Accounting under Fees -> Pricing -> Fee Calculation Procedures -> Define Fee Calculation Procedures.
Example
You would like to distinguish between regular students, and exchange and international students. You therefore define the following student groups:
- Regular students
- Exchange students
- International students
Activities
Enter a four-character alphanumeric key and a description for each required student group.
