In this activity, you set up the number ranges for a student number with UCAS format.

Requirements

You have completed the required setup for using the UCAS number as SAP student number.

Standard settings

Activities

  1. Maintain two number range intervals for every year
    1. One number range interval 'EX' for the sequential number used for UCAS applicants
    2. One number range interval 'IN' for the sequential number used for the creation of student master records with the dialogue transaction.
  2. Define the current year that should be used for the creation of student master records.

Example

You want to set up the number ranges for the years 2004 and 2005. UCAS will allocate the sequential numbers 000001 - 599999 to UCAS applicants. When creating master records with the dialogue transaction you want to assign numbers starting with '05' and sequential numbers in the range 700000 - 999999:

  1. Define the following number range intervals:

  1. Maintain 2005 as the current default year for the allocation of student numbers.
