In this IMG activity, you set up the fee calculation processing modes which you require to determine fees using study data as the calculation base.

A processing mode contains the following attributes:

Activities

  1. Enter a single-character alphanumeric key and a description for each required processing mode.
  2. In the field Selection 1, choose a data selection mode.
  3. In the field Selection 2, choose a further data selection mode if required. Take into account the possible combinations.

    If you assign a second data selection mode, the system uses both data selections in pricing.

  4. Assign a posting mode.
  5. Define the processing mode the system should propose when you call fee calculation.

Examples

A student registers for the Mathematics program in the current academic period. You want to determine the fees the student has to pay for this academic period and invoice him/her. To do so, you require a processing mode with the following attributes:

  • Data selection mode 1: Registration/module booking
  • Posting mode: Actual document

You want to calculate the fees the student has to pay in the next academic period, but not invoice him/her yet. For this, you require a processing mode with the following attributes:

  • Data selection mode 1: Expected registration
  • Posting mode: Statistical document

If the same student also registers for and is admitted to the Physics program in the next academic session, you require a fee calculation processing mode with the following attributes:

  • Data selection mode 1: Expected registration
  • Data selection mode 2: Admission
  • Posting mode: Statistical document
