In this IMG activity, you define additional fields for condition tables if the fields in communication structures KOMP (item fields) and KOMK (header fields) do not meet your requirements. You then assign these new fields to the field catalog in the next IMG activity so that you can select them when you define condition tables.

If you want to add fields which can be used in Campus Management fee calculation, you must create the following communication structures:

  • CI_KOMP_CM (communication item)
  • CI_KOMK_CM (communication header)

    You use the communication header for global data, such as student attributes.

The existing communication structures contain placeholders for these two structures.

Example

You want to define a new field for age.

You create the structure CI_KOMP_CM or CI_KOMK_CM so that you can integrate the new field in this structure.

Recommendation

You should only perform this activity if both of the following conditions are fulfilled:

  • The SAP standard processes do not cover your requirements.
  • You have an in-depth knowledge of the ABAP Dictionary.

Activities

  1. Create the required structure (data type):
    • CI_KOMK_CM for item data
    • CI_KOMP_CM for header data
  2. Enter a short description for the structure you created.
  3. In the Component field, enter the name of the new field. In the Component Type field, enter a data element for this new field.

    You can also create the data element using forward navigation.

  4. Save and activate the objects you created.
