Use

HTTP is the standard protocol for the SAP NetWeaver Application Server. All URLs in the BW system are generated with the HTTP prefix. URLs are generated and used in BEx Web Application Designer and BEx Query Designer for example.

Specifying HTTPS as the Web Protocol means that all URLs are generated with HTTPS.

Requirements

A prerequisite for using the HTTPS Web protocol is that the SAP NetWeaver Application Server is appropriately configured (see Configuring the Application Server in the IMG). The Application Server is configured using the icm/server_port_n profile parameter (n is a number starting from 0) for HTTPS.

Example:

icm/server_port_0

PROT=HTTPS

PORT=1443

TIMEOUT=900

Standard settings

The valid values are HTTP and HTTPS. The standard is HTTP.
