Activities

The portal runs in a Web browser. For more information about the Web browsers supported, see SAP Notes 494689 and 681804.

  1. Ensure that the following settings are permitted in the Web browser.
    • Cookies
    • JavaScript
    • Navigate sub-frames across different domains (Internet Explorer)
    • ActiveX controls and plug-ins (Internet Explorer)

      You can find these settings:

    • In Internet Explorer, under Tools -> Internet Options -> Security -> Custom Level.
    • In Netscape, under Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced.
  2. Make sure that the following prerequisites for the use of Web applications and workbooks are fulfilled:

    BEx Web Applications:

    • To generate BEx Web Applications, you require a local installation of the SAP BW front end (Business Explorer).
    • To display and use BEx Web applications, you only require a Web browser. For more information, see Web browser dependencies in SAP Note 338532.

      BEx Workbooks

    • To call and use BEx workbooks, you require a local installation of SAP GUI for Windows with the BI add-in.
    • If you want to use the function to export as an Excel 2000 file in BEx Web applications, and want to work in workbooks in the BEx Analyzer, you require a local installation of the SAP GUI for Windows with the BI add-in.
    • If you only want to export the Web applications to Excel 2000 and no longer want to work with BW functions, but just with Excel functions, you only require an installation of MS Excel 2000.
