Use
In this activity, you can select the AS Java installation that is to be used to start BI Java applications, such as the planning modeler and the planning wizard, that do not have to run on the server on which the SAP NetWeaver portal runs. This setting is used in transaction RSPLAN, for example, which starts the planning modeler or the planning wizard.
You can choose from:
- Portal AS Java, which is also used as the BEx Web server.
- Add-In AS Java installation; this option is only available if the add-in has been installed and configured.
- AS Java installation that is defined using an arbitrary URL. If you choose this option, you have to specify a URL prefix. To do this, use the following pattern: <protocol>://<host>:<port>.
The first option is selected as default.
You can define URL parameters that are used when Web Dynpro applications are started. These are necessary, for example, when you have multiple back end systems connected to your Java server and you have to specify a back end system that is to use the Web Dynpro application.
The URL parameter could, for example, look as follows:
sap.wdarfc.useSys=BI_METADATA:XXX&sap.wdarfc.useSys=BI_MODELDATA:XXX
XXX stands for the logical system for which the JCo destinations were created.
