Example
Requirements
In OLTP, you can generate DataSources for valuation from the classification in the ERP system using transaction CTBW. For these DataSources you still have to create metadata in the BW system. So that you do not have to create every MetaObject individually in the Data Warehousing Workbench, you can create all MetaObjects at the same time using the transaction CTBW_META.
Standard settings
Activities
Enter the source system and the DataSource in the first screen. If you enter a master data DataSource, an InfoObject is assigned to it. If it is a transaction data DataSource, a transaction data InfoSource is assigned to it. Set the selection according to whether you are enhancing an existing InfoObject/Source, or creating a new one.
After data is released, further fields appear on the screen. If you want to enhance an InfoObject/Source, enter the InfoObject/Source that you want to enhance. If you chose to create a new InfoObject/Source, a name is suggested in the InfoObject/Source field that you can overwrite. In the BasicInfoObject/Source field, enter the MetaObject that is planned for data that does not come from the classification. This entry corresponds to Basic DataSources in transaction (CTBW) for generating DataSources in OLTP. In the Application Components fields, a proposal is made from the DataSource. In this, you create the InfoObject/Source.
After data is released, you call the screen for the attribute InfoOjects. The table displays the DataSource field names in the first column, the assigned InfoObject is behind that. In the fields that are ready for input, a proposal is given for the name of a new InfoOjbect that you can overwrite. At the top of the screen, you specify the catalogs in which you want to create InfoObjects. If you do not fill this in, the InfoOjects are created in the catalog of unassigned MetaOjbects. Choose Execute to create all your MetaObjects or, if applicable, enhance existing ones.
