Use
You use this activity to create an RFC destination. You need this to use BWA indexes, for the BW metadata search, and for the document search (if you are not using the portal document search).
Requirements
You have installed TREX. You must install SAP Gateway before you can install TREX. See the documentation Installing/Administrating Retrieval and Classification (TREX) in a Non-Portal Environment.
Standard settings
Activities
Create the RFC destination for the use of BWA indexes and the BW metadata search:
- Choose Create.
- Enter a name for the RFC Destination.
- Choose the connection type T.
- Enter a description.
- Choose Save.
On the Technical Settings tab page, you specify the settings for the RFC destination.
- Select Registered Server Program as the activation type.
- In the Program ID field, enter ims_server_admin.exe.
- Specify the Gateway Host and the Gateway Service.
- Choose Save.
- Choose Test Connection.
The RFC connection is established.
Create the RFC destination for the document search:
- Choose Create.
- In the RFC Destination field, enter IMSDEFAULT.
- Choose the connection type T.
- Enter a description.
- Choose Save.
On the Technical Settings tab page, you specify the settings for the RFC destination IMSDEFAULT.
- Select Start on Explicit Host as the activation type.
- In the Program ID field, enter <Name>_<Host ID>.
- For Save As, select the required option (Host or IP Address).
- Depending on the option selected, in the Target Host field, enter the host name (with domain name if necessary) or the IP address of the Windows NT computer on which the Index Management Service is installed.
- Choose Save.
Example:
Program ims_server_admin.exe
Target Host hostname.domainname
Save As Host (Selected Option)
Lastly, you specify the settings for SAP Gateway:
- In the Gateway Host field, enter the host name (with domain name if necessary) or the IP address of the Windows NT computer on which the SAP Gateway is installed.
- In the Gateway Service field, enter the name of the gateway, sapgwXX (where 'xx' is the two-digit number for the SAP system). By default, this value is sapgw47 in Release 4.6B and higher or KW 4.0.
Example:
RFC Destination IMSDEFAULT
Gateway Host hostname.domainname
Gateway Service sapgw47
- Choose OK.
The system displays the previous dialog window again.
- Choose Save.
- Choose Test Connection.
The RFC connection is established.
