Use
We only recommend performing a migration into the CM repository if necessary to improve performance.
During migration, documents from the BW server are copied to the portal-based Knowledge Management (KM) and are stored there physically in the CM repository. The CM repository has a fixed folder structure and uses the BI security manager for authorization checks. You can migrate each document class individually, or migrate several document classes simultaneously.
Note:
In BEx Analyzer, you can only access and edit documents located on the BW server and documents that have not been migrated.
After migration, there is no synchronization between the documents in the back end and the portal.
KM on the portal does not support language versions. If there is more than one version of a document on the BW server, only one version is migrated. This version is decided as follows: The system uses the logon language of the user executing the migration to search for the most recent version of the document in this language. If no document is found, the most recent version of the document is migrated (regardless of the language).
