More Information: Migration of Documents to the CM Repository

Requirements

Before you can migrate documents, the following prerequisites have to be met:

  • You have performed the necessary steps for the integration into the portal. You have set up the SAP NetWeaver Portal and Knowledge Management (KM) for example.
  • The system landscape contains a configured BW system (see Create BW System in Portal).
  • You have set up theBW Document Repository Manager and entered BW documents for InfoProviders, master data, and BW system metadata in the properties (see Create BW System in Portal).
  • You have configured a CM repository manager for BW documents on the portal. You have set the CM repository persistence mode to Save All Data (Documents, Folders, and Metadata) in the Database (DB). You have configured a CM Repository Manager security manager using the BI Security Manager for Documents and thus protected the migrated BW documents from unauthorized access (you can set up the security manager only after migration; this improves performance during migration).
  • In Knowledge Management, you have assigned the required portal authorizations to the user who is performing the migration. These are:
    • Authorizations for reading and writing document properties. Choose System Administration -> Configuration -> Content Management -> Utilities -> System Principals -> System User. Enter the user. In the Resource Permission column, assign read, write, and delete authorizations.
    • Authorizations to change the BW system in the PCD. Assign the user read and write authorizations.

Standard settings

Activities

  1. Perform the activity (transaction RSODMIGRATION). The user interface of the migration iView appears. Alternatively, choose Content Provided by SAP -> Platform Add Ons -> Business Intelligence -> iViews -> BEx Document Migration in the portal.
  2. On the Migrate Documents screen, in the System Alias dropdown box, choose the system tjat you want to migrate documents from.
  3. In the Source (BW Document Repository) dropdown box, choose the repository for BW documents that you want to migrate documents from.
  4. In the Target (CM repository) dropdown box, select the CM repository that you want to migrate the documents to.
  5. Under Migrate, set the flag for the document classes that you want to migrate.

We recommend not migrating documents for metadata that is transported automatically with the metadata.

  6. Under Other Options, set the Overwrite Existing Documents flag if you want to overwrite existing documents on the portal.
  7. To perform the migration, choose Start Migration.

The system notifies you when the migration process has completed.

You have copied BI documents to the portal and physically stored them there. The BW system is modified automatically in the system landscape. The properties of the BW documents for InfoProviders, master data, and metadata now contain the Target (CM Repository).

You can now edit the migrated documents on the portal and use them in BEx Web applications. Changes are not written back to the BW system however and are therefore not visible in BEx Analyzer.

During migration, the system automatically enters the target CM repository for the relevant document class in table RSPOR_T_PORTAL. This entry allows you to display documents coming from the Data Warehousing Workbench in the portal.
