Use
The CM repository is used to store BW documents. You can use the migration features to copy BW documents from the BW system to the CM repository. The CM repository is a repository manager and part of Portal-based Knowledge Management (KM).
The Repository Manager for BW Documents enables you to access BW documents that are stored physically on the BW server. The CM repository enables you to store BW documents physically in KM. You can store documents by creating new documents manually or by migrating existing documents.
You can create a separate CM repository for each document class (BW documents for InfoProvider data, for master data, and for metadata). However, you can also use a single CM repository for all document classes. When you migrate documents, the CM repositories are entered automatically in the appropriate properties of the BW system (see Create BW System in the Portal).
Requirements
Standard settings
Activities
To configure CM repositories in the Portal, perform the following steps:
- Log on to the portal.
- Start the iView System Administration -> System Configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Content Management.
- Choose Content Management -> Repository Managers.
- Under Classes, choose CM Repository.
- Create a new instance of the CM repository.
- Enter the main settings:
- Name: Unique name for the repository manager
- Prefix (must start with /): <BW_DOCUMENT_PREFIX> (/bw_documents for example)
- For migrations, the CM repository prefix must be different from the prefix of the repository manager for BW documents. If necessary, the existing repository manager for BW documents can be given a different prefix temporarily for the migration.
- Active: X
- Persistence mode: db
- The persistence mode of the CM repository must be set to Save All Data (Documents, Folders, and Metadata) in Database.
- Repository Services: properties, #
- Choose repository services in accordance with your requirements. For BW, the repository services comment, discussion, feedback, properties, rating and subscription are particularly useful. The repository service properties is mandatory if you want to use TREX to search in documents.
- Security Manager: BW Security Manager for Documents
- The BW security manager for documents is required to protect the migrated BW documents against unauthorized access.
- Choose OK to save the settings.
Repeat these steps for each additional document class.
