Use

In this activity, you can define and configure a connector so that you can generate a data flow.

Using the connector, the Java-based generation runtime registers itself as a server program on the ABAP system host. It can then be addressed using an RFC connection.

Activities

To define a connection, complete the following steps:

  1. Start your J2EE Engine's Visual Administrator.
  2. Choose Server -> Services -> Connector Container.
  3. In the tree display in the Connector Container, choose Resources -> Applications -> sap.com/tc~sapjra -> SAPJavaResourceAdapter15.
  4. Create a new instance for SAP Java Resource Adapter. You can also copy an existing SAP Java Resource Adapter as a template.
  5. You can then define the connection parameters for the ABAP system. The connection parameters include the following:
    •     PortNumber: SAP system number
    •     SAPClient: Your ABAP (BW) system's client
    •     Gateway
    •     User: User
    •     Password: User password
    •     Language: Logon language
    •     MaxReaderThreadCount: The default setting (1) can be selected
    •     System : Name of the logical system
    • ServerName: Host name of the ABAP (BW) system
    • ProgramID: Name of the registered server program, for example: BI_DATA_FLOW_GENERATOR. In Visual Administrator Connector Container, you can find extra information about the various connection parameters.
  6. Save your settings.
