Use

If you want to distribute Business-Intelligence content using e-mail, you have to set up the mail server in the SAP Web Application Server.

Requirements

Standard settings

Activities

  1. Check the status of node SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) in transaction SAPConnect: Administration (System Status):
    • Node SMTP does not exist:
    • To generate the node, choose Node -> Create from the menu. Specify a node ID and a description.
    • Node SMTP is not active:
    • To activate the node, choose Node -> Change from the menu. Select the Node in use field.
  2. Choose Node -> Change from the menu. You reach the screen SAPconnect: General Node Data. Ensure that the following values are defined:
    • Mail host: for example, mail.wdf.sap.corp. (The local host is not normally a valid mail host because a mail server and an SAP application server are not normally installed together on one PC).
    • Mail port: the default value for SMTP is 25
    • Code page: the default values are 1100 or 1140
    • Supported address types:
    • Select field Internet, and choose Set. You get to the SAPconnect: Address Type for Node. Under the address area, enter *.
  3. To maintain standard domains, choose Settings -> Default Domain from the menu and enter the corresponding value (for example, sap.com for e-mail addresses like <Recipient>@sap.com).
