Use

In this IMG activity, you define the forecast model to be used in the forecast.

A forecast model has the following attributes:

  • Forecast level
  • Periodicity
  • Analysis process for model training
  • Key figure to be forecast
  • DataStore object for storing the regression coefficients
  • Scaling factor for the non-explicable portion

A forecast model also has optional attributes:

  • Key figure for the normalized values of the key figure to be forecast
  • Influencing factor with the mode of action "number of sales days" (maximum of one influencing factor of this type per forecast model)

The planning functions for adding or removing the explicable portion access the settings made to the forecast model during the forecast.

Requirements

Before you can define a forecast model, you must create the objects that the forecast model accesses:

  • Key figure to be forecast
  • Characteristics for the forecast level
  • ODS for storing the regression coefficients
  • Analysis process for model training

Standard settings

SAP delivers one forecast model:

0RME_FC1 (Example Forecast Model)

The forecast model has the periodicity "month" and the forecast level store + country + category. The following influencing factors are assigned:

  • Advertising budget (additive)
  • Promotion (additive)
  • Number of sales days

This forecast model is only an example and should not be used productively.
