Requirements

You have configured the settings for the BW Administration Cockpit.

Standard settings

Activities

In this activity, you have the following options:

You can select a different prefix, and thereby select a different portal than the portal that is set up for BEx reporting. This may be the case, for example, if you collect data in a different BW system (a central BW system, for example).

You can specify a different path. By default, the BW Administration Cockpit is displayed in the portal under System Administration -> Monitoring -> Business Intelligence, as long as the user is assigned the following roles:

  • Portal Content -> Content Provided by SAP -> System Administrators -> System Admin

    (pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/administrator/system_admin/com.sap.portal.system_admin_role)

  • Portal Content -> Content Provided by SAP -> Platform Add-Ons -> BI Administration -> Roles -> BI Administrator

    (pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/platform_add_ons/com.sap.pct.bi.tct.admin/com.sap.pct.bi.tct.Roles/com.sap.pct.bi.tct.BIAdministrator)

However, you can also choose a different path if, for example, you do not want your BW administrators to have system administration authorization. In this case, you can set the Point of Entry indicator in the portal:

  • Either in the role:

Portal Content -> Content Provided by SAP -> Platform Add-Ons -> BI Administration -> Roles -> BI Administrator

    (pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/platform_add_ons/com.sap.pct.bi.tct.admin/com.sap.pct.bi.tct.Roles/com.sap.pct.bi.tct.BIAdministrator)

  • Or in the workset:

Portal Content -> Content Provided by SAP -> Platform Add-Ons -> BI Administration -> Worksets -> Business Intelligence

    (pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/platform_add_ons/com.sap.pct.bi.tct.admin/com.sap.pct.bi.tct.Worksets/com.sap.pct.bi.tct.BIAdmin)

Note:

If you enter transaction mode mode_role or mode_workset in this maintenance transaction, the default path is modified accordingly so that you no longer have to enter it manually. With transaction mode mode_standard, you can reset the default path so that the BW Administration Cockpit is displayed as a submenu of System Administrator -> Monitoring.
