In this IMG activity, you assign the Real Estate Business Partner relationship categories to the SAP Business Partner relationship categories.

As part of the business partner conversion, the assigned relationship categories are converted using the report program RFTBUP02.

Standard settings

The relationship categories that are supplied as standard for the SAP Business Partner do not include all the relationship categories that exist for the Real Estate Business Partner. If the relationship categories supplied by SAP are insufficient to meet your requirements, you can create additional relationship categories for the SAP Business Partner in the customer namespace.

Note the following points when assigning relationship categories:

  • Assigning the relationship categories Married Couple, Wife and Husband (0020, 0021, 0022)

The relationship category 0020 Married Couple no longer exists, and can be replaced by a customer-defined relationship category, if required. BUR004 Marriage replaces the relationship category 0021 Wife -> Husband, as well as the relationship category 0022 Husband -> Wife.

  • Assigning the relationship category 0030 Branch /Head Office

The relationship category 0030 Branch/Head Office no longer exists for the SAP Business Partner, and can be replaced by a customer-defined relationship category, if required. This new relationship category must be assigned to differentiation type 001, and must therefore be company code-dependent. Otherwise, an error message appears when the conversion Customizing is checked.

  • Assigning the relationship categories Group Subsidiary/Parent, Joint Venture/Company, OHG, KG with General Partner, GbR with Partners, Affiliated to (0050, 0100, 1000, 1001, 1002):

The relationship categories 0050, 0100, 1000, 1001, and 1002 are transferred to the relationship category BURC01 Shareholder using the conversion report for business partner relationships RFTBUP02. In the standard system, in a business partner relationship belonging to the category BURC01 Shareholder, business partner 1 is the "lower", (in other words, the subordinate) and business partner 2 the "superior", (in other words, the superordinate) organization. You can assign as many of business partner 1 to business partner 2 as you wish. With relationship category 0100 for the Real Estate Business Partner, business partner 1 is the superordinate organization.

Apart from the relationship category BURC01 Shareholder, SAP has created the following, additional relationship categories that you can use instead of BURC01:

  • FSB001 Partner of
  • FSB002 Subsidiary of

Activities

  1. If you enter the Customizing settings for the SAP Business Partner manually, you must assign the corresponding SAP Business Partner relationship category to each Real Estate Business Partner relationship category.
  2. If the system generates the Customizing settings for the SAP Business Partner, check the assignment of the relationship categories that were created in the customer namespace.
  3. Set the indicators, when required, for all the relevant relationship categories.
    • If you want to convert both the relationship category 0021 Wife -> Husband and relationship category 0022 Husband -> Wife to relationship category BUR004 Marriage, you have to swap Partner 1 and Partner 2 round in one of the two relationship categories. This is because you have to define either the husband or the wife as Partner 1 in the relationship category BUR004 Marriage. Swap the business partners for one relationship category in this activity by setting the Sequence indicator for one of the two relationship categories before you run the conversion report RFTBUP02.
    • Set the Sequence indicator for the SAP Business Partner BURC01 Shareholder in order to swap business partner 1 and 2 to convert the business partner relationships.
  4. Save your entries.

Example

Converting relationship category 0021 Wife -> Husband and 0022 Husband -> Wife to relationship category BUR004 Marriage

The following shows the correct order for relationship category BUR004 marriage when the Sequence indicator is set:

Note

  • The Real Estate Business partner contains the business partner categories Natural Person and Organization, whereas the SAP Business Partner offers a third category, namely Group. If you set the Group indicator for a relationship category, a business partner with this relationship category is assigned the business partner category Group when you execute the report program RFTBUP01 (Convert the Real Estate Business Partner to the SAP Business Partner).
