You can define statuses with or without a status number. Status numbers define the order of the user statuses in a status profile. Statuses with lower status numbers usually come before statuses with higher status numbers.

• If all statuses have status numbers, only one status can be active at a time.
• Statuses with no status numbers can all be active at the same time.

Activities

When you double-click a status, a further entry screen appears on which you can specify what effect each status has on the business activities.

You assign the status profile you want to define to an object category. This allows you to assign another user profile to different products.

Further notes

If you want to be able to use a status profile automatically when you create a financial transaction, you have to assign this to the relevant transaction type in Customizing.
