Use
In this IMG activity, you define templates for key figures in the key figure monitor. You use these templates to create key figures. The key figures and their values are displayed in the key figure monitor.
You can predefine the Display Format and threshold values (Value Range) or allow the system to determine them dynamically for each object. If the system determines the values dynamically, you do not need to make any entries for the Value Range or Display Format.
The following entries are mandatory:
- Header Area
- Enter the technical name of the key figure definition in the Key Figure Definition field.
- The Name and Description define how the key figure is displayed on the user interface of the key figure monitor.
- The default key figure provides you with a preselection of object types in the key figure monitor if a selection screen is available.
- Grouping
- You can group key figures together under Grouping. You have to define the groups you want to use in advance.
- Subgroups provide a further means of grouping; this information is displayed as a column in the key figure monitor.
- Source Data
The Source Data shows the original system of the key figure and the program used to determine the values for the key figure. The following entries are mandatory:
- Type of source system
- Source system of key figure
- Report
- You can define your own reports for determining values in addition to using those provided by SAP.
- Variant
- You have to create a variant for the report you are using. You do not have to make settings within the variant.
- User
- You have generated a user in the system and at least the authorization object CA_GKFMADM has been assigned to this user.
- BW Web Template
- If you selected Business Information Warehouse in the Source Type field, you have to specify the corresponding BW Web Template.
- URL of external system
- If you selected External System in the Source Type field, you have to specify the corresponding URL.
- Display Format
You enter the Unit and Currency of the key figure and the Number of Decimal Places. If you do not make any entries under Display Format, you can allow the system to determine object-specific units. To do this, implement the Business Add-In (BAdI) BAdI: Threshold Values for Key Figure Monitor.
- Value Range
Under Value Range, you specify the direction of the key figure, such as minimum and maximum value and the threshold values of the key figures. If you do not make any entries under Value Range, you can allow the system to determine object-specific values, then you can edit these values and output them in the key figure. To do this, implement the Business Add-In (BAdI) BAdI: Threshold Values for Key Figure Monitor .
- Time Periods
You specify the time frame during which the key figure is evaluated and the time intervals at which the values of the key figure are to be determined. The settings for the evaluation time frame also influence the graphical display of the changes in the values in the Portal.
- Other Settings
You specify the following:
- The category to which the key figure is assigned
- The alert setting, that is, which key figure status or change to a key figure status causes a message to be sent.
- The type of comment that can be entered for the values, such as No Comments, Personalized Comments, or Public Comments.
Requirements
If you want to group key figures, you must have defined at least one key figure group beforehand.
Standard settings
Activities
Example
You create a key figure definition "actual costs". Once you have made all the settings for the definition, you can use the key figure monitor to create key figures for objects, such as RIH (element) or IPO (initiative). The system then creates an object-specific key figure "actual costs" for each object.
