Use

In this step, you can distribute Customizing data to the SAP Portfolio and Project Management system.

You must perform this step in the base SAP HCM system.

Since the SAP qualifications catalog uses Customizing tables for defining qualifications scales, you can distribute the customizing entries in two ways, as follows:

  • Distribution via ALE

    This is the most automated distribution of Customizing data. However, the SAP Portfolio and Project Management system must be within the SAP HCM system transport landscape, because the distribution is handled via Customizing transports. If you want to use this method, contact your system administrator to find out whether the option is available.

  • Distribution via Cross-System Viewer

    This is a semi-automated distribution of Customizing data that utilizes the cross-system viewer to synchronize Customizing data across different systems.

Activities

Maintain Distribution Groups

  1. In the IDoc Interface / ALE Implementation Guide, choose Maintain Distribution Model and Distribute Data -> Synchronization of Customizing Data -> Modelling and Executing the Distribution -> Maintain Distribution Groups (or start transaction BDXJ).
  2. Create a new distribution group.
  3. Choose Assign Customizing Objects and assign the following Customizing object to the distribution group:

Maintain Distribution Model

  1. In the IDoc Interface / ALE Implementation Guide, choose Maintain Distribution Model and Distribute Data -> Synchronization of Customizing Data -> Modelling and Executing the Distribution -> Model Distribution.
  2. Modify the distribution model created in Maintain Distribution Model.

    For SAP HCM releases up to and including 4.5B, do the following:

    1. Add the message type CONDAT
    2. Create filter and add VC_T77SK to the object list.

      For SAP HCM releases 4.6B and higher, proceed as follows:

    3. Add the message type CONDA2
    4. Create a filter and add the distribution group created above to the filter
  3. Save the changes, select the model view, and choose Edit -> Model View -> Distribute.
  4. Select the SAP Portfolio and Project Management target system (if not already selected) and continue.

    You should now see the updated model view in the SAP Portfolio and Project Management system.

Distribute Distribution Group

  1. In the IDoc Interface / ALE Implementation Guide, choose Maintain Distribution Model and Distribute Data -> Synchronization of Customizing Data -> Modelling and Executing the Distribution -> Distribute Distribution Group.
  2. Select the distribution group you created and choose Distribute Distribution Group.
  3. Specify the SAP Portfolio and Project Management logical system and execute the report.
