Use

To facilitate the distribution of data between the SAP HCM system and the SAP Portfolio and Project Management system, you must make the necessary settings for Application Link Enabling (ALE).

Requirements

Standard settings

Activities

If you have not already made these settings, go to the IDoc Interface / Application Link Enabling (ALE) Implementation Guide (IMG) and perform the following steps (the order is not critical):

  1. Verify / maintain logical systems:
    1. Choose Basic Settings -> Logical Systems -> Define Logical System.
    2. Choose Basic Settings -> Logical Systems -> Assign Client to Logical System.
  2. Maintain RFC destinations:
    1. Choose Communication -> Create RFC Connections.

You must also perform these additional steps for the SAP HCM system ALE setup:

  1. Maintain the distribution model:
    1. Choose Modeling and Implementing Business Processes -> Maintain Distribution Model and Distribute Views.
  2. Maintain Customizing distribution:
    1. Choose Modeling and Implementing Business Processes -> Synchronization of Customizing Data -> Modelling and Executing the Distribution -> Maintain Distribution Groups.
    2. Choose Modeling and Implementing Business Processes -> Synchronization of Customizing Data -> Modelling and Executing the Distribution -> Model Distribution.
    3. Choose Modeling and Implementing Business Processes -> Synchronization of Customizing Data -> Modelling and Executing the Distribution -> Distribute Distribution Group.
