Use
In this Customizing activity, you define number ranges for the IDs of the following Portfolio Management objects:
- Bucket
- Item, item version, item template
- Initiative, initiative version, initiative template
- Collection
- Review
- What-if scenario
You only need these number ranges if the following conditions are fulfilled:
- You have activated Number Generation for Object ID or Number Generation for Item/Initiative Version ID in the Master Switches area of the Customizing activity Override Default Global Settings.
- You do not intend to define a customer-specific processing logic that ignores the SAP number ranges when implementing method GET_NEXT_NUMBER_FOR_EXTID in the Customizing activity BAdI: Maintenance Services for Portfolio Management Objects.
The IDs generated by the system contain the current year as a suffix. They can be manually overwritten during portfolio maintenance. IDs which have been entered manually are not checked against the number ranges defined here.
