Use

In this step, you can define the format of employee names for each country.

If you do not state any specific rule, the standard setting applies.

Standard settings

The SAP standard setting contains several examples of name formats.

Activities

Create the required name formats or change the existing name formats.

To create a name format:

  1. Choose New Entries.
  2. In the Cty column, enter a country value.
  3. In the Format column, enter a format number.
  4. Select the new name format and double-click on Name Format Fields.
  5. Choose New Entries.
  6. In the Position column, enter a position for the field.
  7. In Field name column, select the field you want to see in that position from the dropdown list.
  8. Choose Save.

To change an existing name format:

  1. Select the name format you want to change.
  2. Double-click on Name Format Fields.
  3. To add more fields, choose New Entries and enter appropriate values in the Cty and Format columns.
  4. To change existing fields, select the field you want to change and select a different field from the dropdown list.
  5. Choose Save.

Example

The US 01 name format could contain the following fields:

Position    Field name

1    Title

2    First name

3    Middle initial

4    Last name

In this case, all US names would be formatted like Mr. Michael R. Willis.
