Use
In this Customizing activity, you can define the necessary mapping for the capacity planning. The following sets of mapping are available:
- Map capacity view to cost elements: the data from SAP FI systems are filled to the capacity groups based on the cost element (Cost Category From and Cost Category To) defined in the mapping.
- Map capacity view to role functions: the mapping is defined for the underlying Project Management projects. The groups are mapped to the role functions and data from the Project Management projects is taken into account depending on the mapping.
Requirements
Standard settings
There is no default configuration.
Activities
You can make the following settings:
- Define and edit the cost elements to which the capacity view type has to be assigned.
To do so, you enter the required range of cost elements (Cost Category From and Cost Category To).
- Define and edit the mapping between the role function ID and the capacity view type.
To do this, you enter the required range of role functions (ID of Role Function From and ID of Role Function To).
In a portfolio item, the following sets of dates are defined. For the integration and planning process, the start and finish are taken into account in the following sequence of priority:
- Actual
- Planned
- Forecasted
The data from the Project Management project to the portfolio item is taken into account within the time frame of the item dates.
Reports
- Execute the report /RPM/PLAN_INT_PREP to create financial and capacity categories and groups for the bucket or the portfolio items based on the parameters mentioned in the selection screen.
- Execute the report /RPM/CAP_PLAN_INT to perform the capacity planning for the different portfolio items based on the parameters mentioned in the selection screen.
- Execute the report /RPM/BUCKET_ROLLUP to roll up the capacity data for the different categories and groups of the portfolio items to its higher-level buckets.
Example
A role which is maintained from 01 JUL to 31 AUG with a capacity demand of 100 days and the portfolio item is maintained from 01 AUG to 31 AUG.
In this case, the item only reads the demand from the role that is within the time frame of the item, for example, from 01 AUG to 31 AUG. This means 50 days are stored in the capacity planning for the portfolio item.
