Use

In this Customizing activity, you define price types. Price types are needed to interpret the price information that is transferred from the feeder system. Prices are required by applications and are distinguished by price types. These are used, for example, in the area of Risk Management in Preference Processing to interpret the prices of individual products.

Products that you transfer from the feeder system to the GTS system contain specific price information. You have to decide how the GTS system valuates these prices so that the applications comply with legal regulations. For example, in Preference Processing, you need to decide how the products are valuated. You can use different price types to determine the valuations.

You need to assign the price types of the feeder system to the price types in the GTS system only under certain circumstances. This is because the price types between the two systems do not have to agree because their significance are independent of the process. Note that the following system behavior is applicable to the assignments:

  • By default, the system assigns the prices provided by the price transfer to the price type for which you have set the Material Price indicator.
If the price transfer also includes a specific price type, the system compares that price type with the one defined in the GTS system that has a set Material Price indicator. If the two price types are the same, the system assigns the prices to this price type.
If the price types differ, nothing is assigned.
  • Once you activate Agreement with NAFTA-Based Concept, this Customizing activity requires that exactly one price type is flagged with the Net Costs indicator.

Requirements

To enable flexibility when transferring product prices with different price types, you need to define this accordingly in the SAP ERP feeder system in the user exit used for price transfers. For more information, see Customizing for plug-in systems under the following paths:

  • SAP Customizing -> Sales -> Foreign Trade/Customs -> SAP Global Trade Services - Plug-In -> User Exits for SAP Global Trade Services -> Master Data Transfer: Material Masters (Enhancement Project SLLLEG04) -> Component EXIT_SAPLSLL_LEG_PRR3_004
  • SAP Customizing -> Materials Management -> Purchasing -> Foreign Trade/Customs -> SAP Global Trade Services - Plug-In -> User Exits for SAP Global Trade Services -> Master Data Transfer: Material Masters (Enhancement Project SLLLEG04) -> Component EXIT_SAPLSLL_LEG_PRR3_004

Standard settings

In the standard system, the indicators Material Price and/or Net Costs are already set for certain price types.

Determine whether the prices to which the defined price type will be assigned reflect the material price or net costs, and set the appropriate indicator.

Note

You can only set these two indicators once only for each price type.
Therefore, it is helpful to define a maximum of two different price types with one indicator set in each, or one price type with both indicators set.
The latter variant is beneficial when a careful examination of the legal regulations reveals that you do not have to distinguish between material price and net costs for the Agreement with NAFTA-Based Concept.

Advance Settings

If you want the Preference Processing and Re-Export applications to be flexible and able to use different prices, you can override the standard assignments described above by explicitly assigning the price types to the applications. This is sometimes required to comply with legal regulations.

After defining the price types, you can make advanced settings by assigning the price types to the applications, for example, Preference Processing and Re-Export Determination:

Note

Once you enter the advanced settings, the standard settings are no longer valid.
This means the prices needed in the applications are valuated according to the assigned price types.
