Use

In this Customizing activity, you assign the price types to their respective agreement for preference determination.

For each preference agreement, you can define which price types are used in the preference determination. Assignments between preference agreements and price types are made using the comparison method. As technical instances of preference rules, comparison methods determine which method is used in preference determination.

The following comparison methods are available for preference determination:

  • '0'    External preference document through long-term vendor declarations or manual setting of the preference indicator
    • This method determines the preference status by means of long-term vendor declarations or manual setting of the preference indicator.
  • 1 - Transaction value method for preference determination
    • This method determines the preference status by determining the threshold value using the preference rules and the relevant bills of materials. In a sales process, the system compares the Ex Works price found in sales and distribution documents with the threshold value to produce a preference statement. You typically use this method for EU agreements.
  • 2 - Net cost method for preference determination
    • This method is needed to determine the preference status for certain agreements, such as the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).
    This method determines the regional value content (RVC) using the preference rules and the relevant bills of materials. Afterwards, the system compares the RVC with the net cost of the product to produce a preference statement.
  • 3 - Tariff shift
    • You use this method to determine the preference status for certain agreements to produce a preference statement. This method can be used for the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).

  • 4 - Build-up method for preference determination
    • You can use this method for certain agreements to determine the preference status. This method uses the originating value for determining the RVC.

  • 5 - Build-down method for preference determination
    • You can use this method for certain agreements to determine the preference status. This method uses the non-originating value for determining the RVC.

Activities

  1. Select the relevant preference agreement (legal regulation) using input help.
  2. Select the relevant method (comparison method) using input help.

Assign the price types to the agreements and methods:

  1. Select a price type for components with preferential origin.
  2. Select a price type for components without preferential origin.
  3. Select a price type for finished products for preference statement.
