Use
In this IMG activity, you define a group of logical systems. You have to assign each logical system that you have defined for your SAP GTS and your feeder systems to a group of logical systems. This group is the foundation or process handling.
Assigning logical systems to a group of logical systems is useful, for example, when you use more than one feeder system, as it reduces the effort required for data maintenance significantly. A prerequisite for assigning logical systems to a group is that the document structure and organizational structure must be identical in all logical systems of the group.
Requirements
You have harmonized the master data and Customizing in the various feeder systems that you want to group. If you do not harmonize the data, you may not be able to display some of it in SAP GTS. If you use the same material number for two different materials in different systems, for example, and use the feeder system group to transfer the material master data, then SAP GTS will only receive one material number. The other material will be missing in SAP GTS.
