Use

In this Customizing activity, you configure the control settings for sanctioned party list (SPL) screening.

This involves the following steps:

  • Configure the control settings for the legal regulation(s) you want to use for SPL screening.
  • Assign an SPL type to the legal regulation(s)
  • Assign a time zone to a date type

The same rule set can be assigned to several different legal regulations, but only one rule set can be assigned to each legal regulation.

Requirements

You have performed the following Customizing activities:

Define Control Procedure for Address Comparison

Define Groups of Partner Functions

Standard settings

The following legal regulations are already included in the standard delivery for SPL screening:

  • AWV - German Foreign Trade Regulations
  • EAR - Export Administration Regulations
  • EMBUN - Embargo - United Nations
  • SPLUS - Sanctioned Party List Screening

Activities

Select the legal regulation for which you want to make control settings by double-clicking on the appropriate line in the table. Then maintain the following settings:

Select the rule set you want to assign to the legal regulation.

Document Control
Use the input help to enter the partner groupings you want the system to include in SPL screening. You can assign partner functions to the partner group. You can then assign these functions to the corresponding partner roles of a document in the logistics system. When you assign a partner group to a specific combination of legal regulation and rule set, you are specifying the document partner roles that will be relevant for SPL screening. For more information, see the field help.

Scope of Check
In this field you specify the extent to which you want the system to take the validity periods of SPL master data into account in SPL screening. The following options are available:

  • Do not include "Valid From" or "Valid To" date
  • Include only "Valid From" date
  • Include only "Valid To" date
  • Include both "Valid From" and "Valid To" date

Include SPL Master Records Flagged for Deletion
When you set this indicator, the system also uses any SPL master data records that have already been flagged for deletion when it generates the comparison index.

Cross Check Active (sequential SPL screening)
When you set this indicator, the system not only compares a specific section of an address with the same section of another address (for example, the street in an SPL address with the street in a partner address) but also with other sections of an address. Therefore, the name in an SPL address is also compared with the street data in the partner address, for example.

Audit
Write Entry to Audit File: By setting this indicator, you can define for each individual screening variant whether you want the system to update the audit trail in real time during SPL screening. In this way, SPL screening is logged in the system. To enable the system to generate the audit trail for SPL screening simulation, you have to define a Number Range for Simulation and assign it to this activity. You can use different number ranges for each legal regulation.

System Control
Store Summarized SPL Index in Application Buffer: You can improve SPL screening runtimes by storing the comparison index in the buffer of the application server. In this way, the SPL comparison index can be read quickly in the application server rather than from the database when SPL screening is run. If you run SPL screening frequently, this can improve response times significantly. Note, however, that response times may be slowed down if the application server buffer is not large enough,.
Store Summarized Comparison Index in Cluster Table: You can also improve the performance of SPL screening by storing the SPL comparison index in summarized form in a cluster table. The system can access this cluster table more quickly than a traditional transparent database table.

Workflow
Sending of Mail: If you set this indicator, the system automatically sends an e-mail if a business partner or document obtains the status "blocked" during SPL screening.

List Type
Enter the SPL list you want to include in the SPL screening together with a description. When you upload the SPL master data, the SPL list types from the data provider are screened against the SPL list types you maintain in this transaction. For more information, see the field help.

Authorities
You can assign a government agency to each list type. This means you can specify the government agency responsible for each SPL list.

Maximum Number of Index Entries per Object
In the Name and Address fields, you can specify the maximum number of comparison index entries that can be defined for each name or address in an SPL master data record. For more information, see the field help.

Minimum Length of Index Entries
You can define the minimum length of index entries for each section of an address. Index entries should have at least two characters, otherwise the address hit list would be too long. If, for example, the index entry consists only of the letter "e", then the system finds almost every address. For more information, see the field help.

Regulation
You can enter a description for the law governing an SPL list (list type). You can also copy this text when you maintain SPL master data.

Comment
You can enter a comment here. You can also copy this comment when you maintain SPL master data. It is used for information purposes only.

Reference Type
Here you can define each name in an SPL master data record as a reference name (such as "also known as" or "appears as"). You have to define these reference types in the master data.

Assign Time Zone to Date Type
With regard to the validity, specify the first and last time zones that apply in the relevant country/region.
