Use

In this Customizing activity, you define a schema for the rules the system uses to carry out sanctioned party list (SPL) screening. The system needs these settings to run comparison checks of addresses or character strings in business partner addresses and document partner addresses. To enable the system to carry out these comparison checks, you have to define the following rules:

  • Schema for address/string comparisons
The control procedure is a central element of SPL screening and defines the following:
    • Language in which the addresses are to be compared
    • Linguistic and phonetic rules used to create the respective comparison index
    • Address elements to compare
    • (Optional) Address elements that trigger SPL screening
  • Detailed comparison parameters
By assigning comparison parameters, you can indicate which address elements are valid in SPL screening and which ones are only applied if specific conditions are fulfilled. If an address element (source of the index entry) has to match a specific section of the SPL address, for example, you can use the "logical AND" operator to specify this. If only one of many address elements has to match a specific section of the SPL address, you define the "logical OR" operator for this address element.
  • Assignment of address fields to the detailed comparison parameters
By assigning address fields, you can specify that the system carries out SPL screening when changes are made to specific fields in a business partner/document partner address.

Requirements

You have activated all the change pointers in plug-in transaction /SAPSLL/MENU_LEGALR3 and created reduced message types to ensure that the business partner addresses are updated in the system for processing in Global Trade Services (GTS).

Standard settings

Activities

  1. Enter a comparison procedure and a description.
  2. Use the input help to select a language that you want the system to use to compare the business partner/document partner address with the SPL master data address.
  3. Choose one of the following sources for search terms:
    1. Basis for comparison is string from comparison index, exclusive
    2. basis for comparison is string from partner address, exclusive
    3. Basis for comparison parallel from comparison index/address
  4. If necessary, set the Screening scope phonetic search </ search flag. For more information on using phonetic rules during generation of the comparison index, see the documentation on SPL screening in the SAP Library.
  5. Define detailed rule sets for address and string comparisons. Select the source for the search terms from the corresponding list box.
  6. If you want the system to check a specific object in an address during SPL screening, set the Check Object flag.
  7. Choose one of the following rules for the operator:
    1. Logical OR (at least one OR operation fulfilled)
    2. Logical AND
  8. Choose one of the following rules for the relational operator:
    1. Comparison Index Contained in Keyword from Address
    2. Comparison Index and Keyword from Address Are Identical
  9. Enter the minimum percentage for the similarity that you want the system to use for comparing the search term and original form during SPL screening. For more information about these entries, see the field help.
  10. Choose the detailed schema you defined from the table and assign it to the rule set, using the input help for the address fields.
