Use

In this IMG activity, you define numbering schemes and, therefore, also the structure for your common agricultural policy (CAP) number products. You maintain the CAP numbers in the same way as you maintain the following numbering schemes in the system:

  • Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN)
  • Import Numbers
  • Product Classification
  • Tariff Codes

It is necessary to make settings to maintain the CAP numbers so that you can assign the CAP numbers in the application to the products for which you receive restitution. The customs authorities require these CAP numbers when you apply for restitution.

You can also make a setting to determine the type of product description you want the user to be able to maintain in the application.

Requirements

You have entered the relevant units of measurement that the customs authorities use as internal units of measurement in your standard settings of the IMG activity Check Units of Measurement (if you have not already entered them).

Standard settings

The following numbering schemes for CAP numbers are included as part of the standard shipment:

  • MOWEU:    CAP No.
  • RES:        Restitution Code - do not use - country dependent
  • REST:    Restitution Code FI
  • RUSS:    Restitution Code

The following structure for the numbering scheme MOWDE is included as part of the standard shipment:

Level 10: Chapter (exactly 4 characters long)

Level 20: Harmonized System (HS) Code (exactly 6 characters long)

Level 30: Combined Nomenclature (CN) Code (exactly 8 characters long)

Level 40: CAP Number (exactly 12 characters long)

Activities

To define your own CAP numbering schemes, complete the following activities:

GTS: Structure Segment for CAP Number

  • Enter a numbering scheme name and a description.
  • If you want..., set the indicator Reference Sys. Enter a Ref. Structure using the input help.
  • If you want the user to assign a CAP numbering scheme to a specific product and be valid for only a specific period of time, set the indicator Time-Dependent. The result is that this setting ensures the user has the option of entering the validity period for the CAP numbering scheme assignment to the product in the product maintenance function of the application.

GTS: Convention of Structure Segment for CAP Number

  • Enter the number of the structural levels of the CAP numbering scheme in multiples of 10.
  • Enter the length of the structural level in digits and select from the dropdown box whether this is the exact length or the length range from one to that number.
  • Enter any separator characters.
  • Enter a description of the structural level of the CAP numbering scheme.

GTS: Product Master: Control Table for Product Number

Here you make settings that determine whether the user can maintain CAP numbering scheme assignments as being time-dependent in the product master maintenance in the application. If you do not make the assignment of the CAP numbering scheme to a product time-dependent, the classification validity period fields do not appear in the product master maintenance.
