Use
In this Customizing activity, you define a determination procedure to enable the system to determine suitable letter of credit (LOC) types for specific business transactions automatically. These LOC types include revocable and irrevocable letters of credit, for example. The determination procedure defined here controls how the system determines the LOC types for a specific legal regulation.
Define determination procedures for the LOC types and assign them to a specific table. You can assign determination procedures to the following tables:
- Country
- Country group
- Legal regulation
- Country/partner group
- Country group/partner group
- Partner group
"Country" refers to the country of destination in export control and to the country of departure in import control.
The country group is defined in agreement with these countries.
The partner groups are the ones you have defined for LOC processing.

Activities
- Enter the name of a determination procedure for determining the LOC types, along with an appropriate description.
- Then assign a determination strategy to the determination procedure you just defined. Enter sequence numbers – such as 10, 20, and so on – and choose the level you want the system to use to determine the export license type from the dropdown box under Determination Procedure, for example, At Country Level.
- The system searches for a suitable export license type in accordance with the sequence and conditions that you defined for a specific determination procedure.
