Use
In this IMG activity, you define the structure and parameters for tariff code numbers that you want to assign to a customs declaration for each process, in addition to the product classification. Authorities can issue these additional tariff code numbers as separate chapters in a nomenclature of goods, to model special handling cases. If you want to make use of this special handling, you have to enter these additional tariff code numbers at item level for each process in the customs declarations.

Activities
In Numbering Scheme of Additional Tariff Code Numbers, define the numbering scheme in which you want to enter the tariff code numbers.
In Structure of Additional Tariff Code Numbers, define the structure and hierarchy levels of these tariff code numbers.
Example
One example of additional tariff code numbers is Chapters 98 and 99 of the Harmonized Tariff System (HTS) in the U.S., in which the customs authorities encode special handling. If you assign tariff code numbers from Chapters 98 or 99 to a document item in a customs import declaration, you can apply for special customs procedures for a product or indicate the assignment of that process to a preference agreement.
