Use
In this Customizing activity, you activate the item categories for an application area and define their meaning for that application area.
An activated item category defines characteristics of a document item and can therefore fulfill the control functions for customs documents in Compliance Management, for example, or the requirements of different business transactions. In legal control, for example, you can control depreciation of licenses, either at the item category level in general or for a combination of item category and legal regulation.
The item category also controls whether an item is a standard item or text item.
Requirements
You have completed the Customizing activity to define item categories for application areas.
Standard settings
The delivery Customizing already contains item categories for the application areas.
Activities
Select the item categories that you want to use for an application area.
If you want to use item categories to control an application area, you can also define characteristics for that item category within an application area.
