Use
In this IMG activity, you can define the procedures for defaulting data for the objects integrated in Case Management. The data defaulting enables you to determine process route for a case in the application, for example. The data default is relevant for the following objects in the Case Management context:
- Products
- Business partners
- Documents
Requirements
You have already configured the settings for the process route and case type in Case Management, by executing the actvities under structure nodes "Process Route" and "Case Type". To do so, go to the Implementation Guide (IMG) and perform the activities under under Cross-Application Functions -> General Application Functions -> Records and Case Management -> Case -> Process Route and -> Case Types
Standard settings
The standard settings already contain the necessary settings for all objects, including:
- Defaulting procedures for business partner, document, and product
- Default rules for the defaulting procedures required to determine the process route model and the case type
- System accesses to determine the relevant source fields or combination of fields for the default rules
Note: The standard settings cover all requirements of the procedure for defaulting data for Case Management. We therefore recommend that you leave the standard settings unchanged.
Activities
- Define a procedure and enter a name for it.
- Define the target field for filling document fields under the default rules.
- Define accesses for the individual rules that the system uses to determine the case type and process route model, and assign sequence numbers to them.
- Assign sequence numbers to the rule, to define the sequence in which the document fields will be filled.
- Activate the default data.
Use IMG activity Activate Case Management to assign the necessary procedures for defaulting data to the objects you want to activate for Case Management.
You then have to define the values in the source and target fields in the application that will enable the system to determine the correct process route models and case types in the application.
