Use

In this IMG activity, you define which end uses you want to assign to your products in classification with tariff code numbers. You need these end uses to assign different tariff code numbers to a product in classification, depending on that product's end use.

Because the end uses can differ for each numbering scheme for tariff code numbers, you have to assign the end uses to the relevant numbering schemes.

Define an end use and enter a description for it.

Example

The assignment of multiple tariff numbers to a product can be necessary in some nomenclatures, for example, in the mechanical engineering and automotive industries. The nomenclature for the Harmonized System records shock absorbers under 8708 80 in Chapter 87. The country-specific and customs union-specific extensions to this subitem can have various tariff numbers, depending on the end use. The European TARIC system differentiates the end use of shock absorbers in the tens place, as follows:

  • Shock absorbers for industrial assembly: 8708 80 10
  • Shock absorbers for other purposes: 8708 80 90
