Use
You assign tariff numbers to your products in product classification, based on a nomenclature of goods. The authorities define customs duties or determine measures for cross-border goods movements based on this tariff number. To increase transparency in the product classification process, you can enter comments, in which you can justify or remark on the assignment of a tariff number. To do so, you need text determination procedures, which you activate for the numbering schemes in an additional step, for the comments you want to enter for tariff number-product assignment. You activate the procedures in IMG activity Configure Text Determination Procedure for Classification Documents.
Requirements
Text IDs are a technical prerequisite for using text determination procedures. You have already defined these text IDs in IMG activity Define Text IDs for Foreign Trade-Specific Documents.
Standard settings
Because the customs authorities' classification requirements can differ between import/export processing and import/export control, the following text determination procedures - with the assigned text ID 0001 - are already included as notes in the standard shipment:
- CLA (Classification - Legal Control)
- TAR (Classification - Customs Processing)
Activities
Enter a name and description for the text determination procedure.
Assign text IDs.
