Use
In this IMG activity, you define the types of customs duty that are relevant to the customs value calculation. To do this, you need to make entries for the duty type, the duty category, the distribution type, and the maintenance level. In the case of the maintenance level, you decide whether the duty type is maintained on the header level or the item level, and/or whether the duty type is maintained on the item level and cumulated on the header level. You can also define here whether to allow manual entries in the application.
You can also set the indicator for pro-rated duty here. This indicator controls the 'ready for input' status of a percentage rate for pro-rated calculation when calculating the customs value. You may need this pro-rated caulculation function in the air freight area, for example, as only a certain proportion of the freight costs in this area are included in the customs value calculation. If you set this indicator, the value is included in the customs value calculation only if you have entered a percentage rate.
Requirements
Standard settings
Customs duties are already contained in the following categories in the default settings for this activity:
- Transaction charges
- Customs duty rate
- Duty rates
- Subtotals
- Customs value
Activities
Enter the duty type and a description.
Enter the duty category. The duty category can have one of three sub-categories:
- Transaction charge
The transaction charge can be the value of a good, or transport or insurance costs, for example.
- Total / subtotal
The system automatically calculates the total and subtotal.
- Authority-assigned customs types
The following customs types are set by the authorities:
- Third-country duty
- Preference duty
- Duty for pharmaceutical products
- Customs exemption
- Anti-dumping
Create a distribution type for the customs duty, and the maintenance level for the duty type.
Within a template, you can have only one duty type with the net price/invoice value value type. You have to select the maintenance level Maintain duty type for item level and cumulate on header for this duty type.
Define whether you want to allow manual entries.
Specify whether the duties will be calculated on a pro-rated basis.
