Use
In this IMG activity, you set the exclusion requirements and checking parameters for customs value calculation. The exclusion requirements enable you to exclude particular duties from the calculation, depending on the process used. This is required for sales returns that are exempt from duty, for example.
The checking parameters support you in checking the completeness of the customs value calculation and, if required, they display in the log the cases in which you have to postprocess data manually or correct errors. Some examples of cases where you require checking rules and their parameters are:
- If the customs value calculation is based on complex duty rates, you have to set the conditions where the duty rate is used in manual postprocessing.
- If there is no weight data on item level for goods, the item is not taken into account in the allocation of duties in the customs value calculation. You therefore have to add the missing entry so that the result of the calculation is not distorted in the allocation.
- If you want the system to determine a duty rate, such as a preferential customs duty or third-country duty, for each calculation.
You first define rules according to which you want to check the customs value calculation. In doing so, you set the prerequisites and conditions for the checks, including:
- The point at which the check is complete
- The prerequisites on which the check is based, such as:
- The component: Customs processing, duties
- The content of a particular field
- Relationship of the field content to a fixed value
- Which check the system activates on the basis of the prerequisites
Note: If you want to define complex checks or your own exclusion requirements, you can use the Business Add-In for Customs Duty Calculation.
In a second step, you group the exclusion requirements and checking rules by calculation profiles. To do so, you define a calculation profile and assign the relevant exclusion requirements and checking rules to it. You can specify whether exclusion requirement or checking rule is to apply to all duty types or only specific ones.
Finally, you specify the scope of application of the individual calculation profiles for document types and legal regulations.
